Soccer Recap: Liberty Comes Up Short

Liberty entered their matchup against Pine Creek on Thursday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Lancers fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 2-1. While losing is never fun, Liberty can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado soccer rankings (they are ranked 69th, while Pine Creek are ranked tenth).

Liberty's goal came courtesy of Gretchen Krammes, who's now up to two this season.

Liberty's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 7-3-2. As for Pine Creek, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 9-1-2.

Coming up, Liberty will head out on the road to square off against Rampart at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Liberty will need to watch out since Rampart have now posted at least four goals in their last four contests. As for Pine Creek, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Regis Jesuit at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
