Softball Recap: Galesburg-Augusta Comes Up Short

Galesburg-Augusta was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 22-7 to the Union City Chargers. On the bright side, the seven- run performance marked the Rams' highest-scoring match to date.

Galesburg-Augusta saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lilli Thompson, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3. Thompson also put up a double, which was her first of the season. Another was Brianna Keene, who scored two runs.

Galesburg-Augusta's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Union City, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-1.

While Galesburg-Augusta had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
