Midlothian is 8-2 against L.C. Bird since April of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Trojans will host the Skyhawks at 5:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Midlothian has three straight victories, L.C. Bird has eight straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Midlothian and Manchester meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Thursday. The Trojans sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Lancers. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Trojans have posted against the Lancers since May 7, 2019.

The home team had won the previous four meetings between L.C. Bird and Cosby, and Cosby kept the tradition alive. The Skyhawks came up short against the Titans on Tuesday, falling 7-1. The match marked the Skyhawks' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Midlothian pushed their record up to 6-4 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. As for L.C. Bird, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-9.

Midlothian took their win against L.C. Bird when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 16-0 score. Will the Trojans repeat their success, or do the Skyhawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
