Softball Recap: New Fairfield Rebels vs. Pomperaug Panthers

After flying high against Weston on Monday, New Fairfield came back down to earth. The Rebels fell just short of the Pomperaug Panthers by a score of 9-8 on Wednesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Rebels of the 19-6 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Gianna Garofola was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run was her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophia Callahan, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI.
