Volleyball Recap: Lafayette Central Catholic Comes Up Short

Lafayette Central Catholic lost against Benton Central back in August and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Knights fell 2-0 to the Bison.

Lauren Johnson paced Lafayette Central Catholic's offense, picking up five kills. Johnson got some help from Paige Perez and her seven assists. Brooke Thompson controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Benton Central was led to victory by Bella Widmer and Madison Minniear. Widmer had ten digs and three aces, while Minniear had three digs and three aces. That's the most aces Widmer has posted over her last 11 matchups.

Lafayette Central Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 13-13. As for Benton Central, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season.

Lafayette Central Catholic has already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against West Lafayette on the 4th. As for Benton Central, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 2-1 victory against Hamilton Heights on the 4th.
