Softball Recap: Harrison Central Red Rebels vs. West Harrison Hurricanes

Harrison Central was the 2-1 winner over West Harrison when they last played one another back in April of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Harrison Central Red Rebels fell 5-2 to the West Harrison Hurricanes on Saturday. Harrison Central has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Harrison Central saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emilye Seiferd, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

On West Harrison's side, Kira Moseley spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits and racked up eight Ks. Those seven innings set a new season-high mark for her.

At the plate, Abbie Hancock was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 1-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of KK Williams, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Harrison Central's loss dropped their record down to 15-11-1. As for West Harrison, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-10 record this season.

Harrison Central will head out on the road to face off against Northwest Rankin at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
