Basketball Recap: Morgan Betts Key Part of a Team Effort in Indians Win

After losing to Bellefontaine the last time they met, Shawnee decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Shawnee Indians walked away with a 54-42 win over the Bellefontaine Chieftains on Monday.

Shawnee got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Morgan Betts out in front who went 5 for 7 on her way to 14 points and four steals. Kamryn Morris was another key player, putting up 15 points and three steals.

Shawnee's win bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Bellefontaine, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Shawnee and Ottawa-Glandorf will round out the year against one another at at 7:30 p.m. on December 30th. As for Bellefontaine, they will square off against Memorial at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Bellefontaine is facing Memorial at the right time seeing as Memorial is stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
