Basketball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Lyons

Lyons waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They took down the Union Colony Prep Timberwolves 47-32. 47 seems to be a good number for the Lions as the team scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.

Lyons' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Leora Hagan, who went 7-for-11 on her way to 14 points in addition to five assists and four steals. That's the most points Hagan has posted since back in December of 2024. Gretta Wynja was another key player, going 6-for-8 to rack up 12 points and five rebounds.

Lyons smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. They are 13-2 when they hit their own glass that hard.

Lyons' win bumped their record up to 15-6. As for Union Colony Prep, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-11.

Looking ahead, Lyons will challenge SkyView Academy at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. As for Union Colony Prep, they will venture away from home to square off against Bishop Machebeuf at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday.
