Basketball Game Preview: Jefferson Yellowjackets vs. Sergeant Bluff-Luton Warriors

Jefferson is 2-8 against Sergeant Bluff-Luton since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Jefferson Yellowjackets will look to defend their home court against the Sergeant Bluff-Luton Warriors at 7:00 p.m. Sergeant Bluff-Luton took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Jefferson, who comes in off a win.

Jefferson is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They snuck past Sioux City West with a 63-57 victory on Tuesday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Yellowjackets as it put an end to their four-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, Sergeant Bluff-Luton managed to keep up with Lincoln until halftime on Tuesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Sergeant Bluff-Luton came up short against Lincoln, falling 74-53. The defeat continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Lynx: they've now lost five in a row.

Sergeant Bluff-Luton now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Jefferson, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Jefferson was able to grind out a solid win over Sergeant Bluff-Luton in their previous meeting back in January, winning 71-62. Does Jefferson have another victory up their sleeve, or will Sergeant Bluff-Luton turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
