Football Game Preview: Brookhaven Panthers vs. Laurel Golden Tornadoes + Official Tickets

Brookhaven is on a four-game streak of home wins, while Laurel is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Panthers will host the Golden Tornadoes at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Brookhaven knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 31 points or more in their past five contests -- so hopefully Laurel likes a good challenge.

Brookhaven is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They breezed past Wayne County to the tune of 42-7. Considering the Panthers have won six games by more than 33 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Jaden Allen continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 102 yards and one TD on only 11 carries, while also throwing for 111 yards and three touchdowns. Caiden Quarles was another key player, rushing for 101 yards and one score on only 13 carries.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Brookhaven was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 215 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 158 rushing yards in six consecutive matchups.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Brookhaven's defense and their five sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Jeremy Bibbs and Derwin Fields, who racked up all five sacks between them.

Meanwhile, Laurel's game on Friday was all tied up 14-14 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Stone, sneaking past 24-21.

Brookhaven's victory bumped their record up to 10-2. As for Laurel, the win got them back to even at 6-6.
