Basketball Recap: Pallotti Takes a Loss

Pallotti extended their losing streak to four on Sunday, dropping them down to 8-8. They fell 70-58 to the Friendship Tech Prep Academy Titans. The Panthers lost against the Titans in their previous head to head back in January of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 75-41 score last time.

As for Friendship Tech Prep Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-10 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.8 points over those games.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Friendship Tech Prep Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Malik Shackleford, who almost dropped a double-double with 23 points and nine rebounds. The matchup was Shackleford's eighth in a row with at least 17 points. Another player making a difference was Micheal Jones Lloyd, who posted 17 points and eight boards.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pallotti won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Archbishop Spalding at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Friendship Tech Prep Academy, they will head out to face off against KIPP College Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Titans' defense better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 50.1 points per game this season.
