Baseball Recap: Seneca Sets Scoring Season-High Against Winslow Township

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Seneca). They never let the Winslow Township Eagles get on the board and left with a 13-0 win on Wednesday. The Golden Eagles' pitching crew has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a run in their last three matchups.

Ethan Lawrence looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has become a key player for Seneca: the team is undefeated when he allows at most one hit, but 3-11 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Seneca got a big performance out of Luke Gsell, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Those two hits gave Gsell a new career-high. Kyle Trzaskawka was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Seneca was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .441. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in three consecutive contests.

Seneca's record is now 6-11. As for Winslow Township, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-11.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Seneca will welcome Shawnee at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for Winslow Township, they will host Moorestown Friends at 3:45 p.m. on Friday.
