Softball Recap: Hudson Victorious

Hudson won the last time they faced Palestine and things went their way on Monday too. The Hornets came out on top against the Wildcats by a score of 5-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Hornets.

Avery Fondren spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up nine Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Kaisyn Schmidt, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Tink Gilder was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

Hudson's victory bumped their record up to 11-12-1. As for Palestine, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 15-13.

Hudson will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Wildcats: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
