Baseball Game Preview: West Union Eagles vs. Smithville Seminoles

For the second straight game, West Union will face off against Smithville. The Eagles will face off against the Seminoles at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. West Union is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.2 runs per game this season.

West Union's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Smithville with a sharp 10-0 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Eagles considering their one-run performance the matchup before.

Jon Grey Morrisson was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 13 over six innings pitched. Those 13 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three stolen bases, and three runs. He also brought in three RBI, which is notable because West Union is undefeated when he posts at least three RBI, but 5-9 otherwise.

In other batting news, Grant Martin was incredible, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. Mack Wallis was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.

West Union kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Smithville didn't got any hits.
