Softball Recap: Ellenville Wins Going Away Against Millbrook

With a playoff win on the line, Ellenville rose to the challenge on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Millbrook Blazers as they made off with a 10-4 win. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 3-2 win last Monday.

Victoria Bonitz made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in May of 2024.

In other batting news, Ellenville got a massive performance out of Nevaeh Ramos, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. That's the most runs Ramos has posted since back in May of 2024. Lyla Denman was another key player, going 3-for-4 with five RBI and one double.

Ellenville kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Ellenville now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Millbrook, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season.

Ellenville didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 6-1 defeat against Sullivan West on the 29th. Millbrook does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
