Baseball Recap: Cardinal Mooney Victorious

It was a proper cat-fight when Cardinal Mooney challenged Bradenton Christian on Thursday. The Cougars' pitchers stepped up to hand the Panthers a 10-0 shutout. The victory continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won four in a row.

Joey Antonucci looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched.

At the plate, Michael Geaglone was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of John Badala, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Cardinal Mooney kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits every time they've taken the field this season.

Cardinal Mooney's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Bradenton Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 1-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cardinal Mooney will challenge South Fort Myers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Bradenton Christian, they will square off against Canterbury at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
