Softball Recap: Shadow Ridge Now 3-1 over Last Four Games

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Shadow Ridge walked away with it. They came out on top against the Coronado Cougars on Thursday by a score of 6-5 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 14-5 win back in April.

Katelynn Quidato spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and one unearned) runs on ten hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Madison Foster, who went 3-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Jacobi Gledhill, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI.

Shadow Ridge has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season. As for Coronado, their record is now 16-14.

Coming up, Shadow Ridge will face off against Arbor View at 1:30 p.m. on Friday. The Mustangs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Aggies have averaged an impressive 8.2 runs per game this season. Coronado does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
