Softball Recap: Helena Gets the Win

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Helena walked away with it. They came out on top against the Rehobeth Rebels by a score of 5-2 on Thursday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Huskies.

Marlee Parsons spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on seven hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Gracie Storey, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Macie Brashears, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two RBI.

Helena hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rehobeth struck out six times.

Helena's record now sits at 32-15-2. As for Rehobeth, with the defeat, they broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 24-18-1.

Helena didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 3-2 victory against Hartselle on the 15th. Rehobeth does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
