Baseball Recap: Watonga Eagles vs. Union City Tigers

Watonga extended their losing streak to nine on Monday, dropping them down to 4-25. They took an 8-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Union City Tigers. The Eagles were not able to make up for their defeat to the Tigers from their previous meeting back in April of 2025.

Wade Manke made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. Zac Diaz also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

As for Union City, their victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 22-4. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games.

On Union City's side, Kyson Jenkins was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI. Those two doubles gave Jenkins a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Trysden Huffine, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI and one double.
