Baseball Recap: Cardinal Wins Going Away Against Knoxville

Cardinal lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Knoxville, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Friday's contest. The Comets blew past the Panthers 13-2 on Friday. Considering the Comets have won four games by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Cardinal picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 4-2. As for Knoxville, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Cardinal is set to square off against their familiar foe Albia at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Comets 2.7, the Blue Demons 4) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Knoxville will take on rival Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont on Monday.
