Basketball Recap: Encinal Comes Up Short

Encinal extended their losing streak to four on Friday, dropping them down to 9-16. They were dealt an 81-51 defeat at the hands of the Tennyson Lancers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lancers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 73-53 back in January.

As for Tennyson, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a massive bump to their 15-11 record this season. They have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Tennyson's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was James Walker, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and 14 boards. The Lancers are 10-5 when Walker posts ten or more rebounds, but 5-6 otherwise. Another player making a difference was DeAngelo Mac, who went 5-for-12 en route to 16 points and four steals.

As of now, neither Encinal nor Tennyson have any future games scheduled.
