Softball Recap: Manchester Red Hawks vs. Simsbury Trojans
Manchester was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Simsbury Trojans. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Trojans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-2 on Saturday.
Manchester saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Izabella Derench ?26, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Manchester's loss dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Simsbury, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-2-1.
Coming up, Manchester will challenge South Windsor at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. As for Simsbury, they will head out to challenge Bristol Eastern at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. The Trojans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Lancers have averaged an impressive 10.8 runs per game this season.
