Basketball Recap: Anna Comes Up Short

Anna saw some tournament action on Friday. They had to suffer through a 81-48 loss at the hands of the Horn Jaguars. While losing is never fun, the Coyotes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 522nd, while the Jaguars are ranked 160th).

Several Coyotes players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Karson Jones, who went 7 for 10 on his way to 19 points. Jones continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Foster, who posted seven points.

This is the second loss in a row for Anna and nudges their season record down to 7-13. As for Horn, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season.

Anna didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 60-60 draw against Forney on the 28th. As for Horn, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 61-58 loss against Tyler Legacy on the 28th.
