Softball Recap: Berkshire Comes Up Short

After flying high against Kirtland last Wednesday, Berkshire came back down to earth. The Badgers fell just short of the Wickliffe Blue Devils by a score of 4-3 on Monday. The loss continues a trend for the Badgers in their meetings with the Blue Devils: they've now lost six in a row.

Berkshire's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-3. As for Wickliffe, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-2.

Looking ahead, Berkshire will take on Geneva at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Wickliffe, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Cardinal at 5:00 p.m. The Blue Devils' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Huskies have averaged an impressive 9.6 runs per game this season.
