Recap: Tri-Central Trojans vs. Taylor Titans

The Tri-Central Trojans lost to the Taylor Titans back in February of 2023, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. Tri-Central put the hurt on Taylor with a sharp 60-37 victory.

Tri-Central was led to victory by Trenton Patz and Stetson Newcom. Patz scored 17 points along with eight rebounds, while Newcom scored 14 points along with eight assists and eight rebounds. Patz is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. Another player making a difference was Landon Grant, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and two steals.

Taylor lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jacob Trueblood, who scored six points along with two steals. Trueblood continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Dre McClatchey was another key contributor, scoring nine points.

Tri-Central's win bumped their record up to 11-7. As for Taylor, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 14-6.

Tri-Central and Faith Christian will face off at 7:30 p.m. on February 10th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Faith Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matches -- so hopefully Tri-Central likes a good challenge. As for Taylor, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Tipton at 7:30 p.m. on February 10th. Tipton is coming into the match with nine straight wins at home, so Taylor is out to stop a team with plenty of momentum.
