Baseball Game Preview: New Richmond Tigers vs. Superior Spartans

The New Richmond Tigers will head out to square off against the Superior Spartans at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. New Richmond will be strutting in after a victory while Superior will be coming in after a defeat.

New Richmond took a six-run loss the last time they faced off against Hudson, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Tigers narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Raiders 7-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Tigers have posted against the Raiders since May 5, 2022.

Superior couldn't beat Hermantown on Monday even though they stacked five runs on them in the second inning. The Spartans took a 13-10 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hawks. The Spartans just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

New Richmond's win bumped their record up to 14-4. As for Superior, their loss dropped their record down to 7-12.

Everything went New Richmond's way against Superior when the teams last played back in May of 2024, as New Richmond made off with a 17-0 victory. Do the Tigers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Spartans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
