Basketball Recap: Poynette Comes Up Short

Poynette was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 78-39 loss at the hands of the Lake Mills L-Cats. While losing is never fun, the Pumas can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 367th, while the L-Cats are ranked 52nd).

Poynette's loss dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Lake Mills, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-3.

When Poynette and Lake Mills next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Poynette will square off against Deerfield and their four-game winning streak at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Similarly, Lake Mills will try to stop Onalaska's seven-game winning streak when the meet at 1:45 p.m. on Saturday.
