Softball Recap: Leesville Road Sets Scoring Season-High Against Athens Drive

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Leesville Road). They blew past the Athens Drive Jaguars 17-2 on Tuesday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Pride considering their two-run performance the match before.

Bryanna Guilliams was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those two runs gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Maya Schpero was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Haleigh Windell was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

Leesville Road always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .559. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Leesville Road is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Athens Drive, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-11.
