Basketball Recap: Culver Community Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Caleb Mccuen and Jonas Mccuen

Culver Community was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 14th straight loss. They took a hard 41-27 fall against the Argos Dragons. That's two games in a row now that the Cavaliers have lost by exactly 14 points.

Despite the defeat, Culver Community had strong showings from Jonas McCuen, who posted ten points, and Caleb McCuen, who earned nine points.

It was another big night for Luke Stults, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and 14 rebounds for Argos. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Stults has scored at least a third of Argos' points. Zhayne Hellums was another key player, putting up ten points.

Culver Community's loss dropped their record down to 1-16. As for Argos, their win bumped their record up to 4-14.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Culver Community won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Pioneer at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Argos, they will face off against South Central at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
