Preview: New London Wildcats vs. South Central Trojans
New London and South Central are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2018, but not for long. The New London Wildcats will head out on the road to challenge the South Central Trojans at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as New London comes in on six and South Central on seven.
Last Monday, New London earned a 35-25 victory over Wellington.
Meanwhile, South Central can now show off six landslide victories after their most recent game on Wednesday. They blew past St. Paul 45-22. Given South Central's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 290th, while St. Paul is ranked 769th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
New London is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season. As for South Central, they pushed their record up to 15-4 with that win, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Everything came up roses for New London against South Central in their previous meeting back in January as the team secured a 64-32 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for New London since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
