Soccer Game Preview: Central vs. Winnetonka

The Central Indians will head out to challenge the Winnetonka Griffins at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

On Tuesday, Central didn't have quite enough to beat Excelsior Springs and fell 2-1. Central have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Winnetonka's offense. They lost 8-0 to Excelsior Springs on Thursday. Winnetonka haven't had much luck with Excelsior Springs recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Winnetonka's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Central, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Everything went Central's way against Winnetonka in their previous matchup back in April of 2025, as Central made off with a 9-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Indians since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
