Football Game Preview: Alamo Navajo vs. Mountainair

Mountainair have had a week off and are no doubt ready to get back on the field. They will challenge Alamo Navajo on the road at 7:00 PM on Thursday. Alamo Navajo will need to watch out since Mountainair have now posted big point totals in their last six contests.

Mountainair brought a five-game winning streak into their game against Menaul two weeks ago; they left with a six-game streak. Mountainair took the contest and then some with a 54-6 victory over Menaul. Followers of Mountainair probably expected little less of the team in a season in which they have collected seven blowout victories.

Meanwhile, Alamo Navajo have been struggling to pick up a win, with their match against Menaul last Friday making it three winless games in a row. Alamo Navajo were completely outmatched, falling 6-66 to Menaul. The state rankings had actually given Alamo Navajo a slight edge heading into the game, making this hurt that much more.

Mountainair's win lifted them to 7-1 while Alamo Navajo's defeat dropped them down to 3-4. We'll see if Mountainair's success rolls on or if Alamo Navajo are able to steal their positive momentum.
