Volleyball Recap: Summit Academy Falls to Draper APA in First Game of Season

Summit Academy had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They came up short against the Draper APA Eagles on Tuesday, falling 3-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bears of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2022.

While Summit Academy was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Draper APA's winning margin in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-5, 25-6, 25-14.

Leading Draper APA to victory were Paisley Le and Evie Martinez. Le had six digs and five aces, while Martinez had seven digs and one assist. That's the most digs Martinez has posted since back in September of 2024.

Looking ahead, Summit Academy will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Juab at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Draper APA, they will face off against West at 6:00 p.m. on the 14th.
