Basketball Game Preview: Danbury Lakers vs. New Riegel Blue Jackets

Danbury hasn't had much luck against New Riegel recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Danbury Lakers will be home for the holidays to greet the New Riegel Blue Jackets at 7:00 p.m. Danbury has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

On Tuesday, Danbury was beaten by Monroeville 86-55.

Meanwhile, New Riegel won against St. Mary Central Catholic last Tuesday with 64 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. New Riegel walked away with a 64-56 win over Woodmore. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Blue Jackets.

New Riegel pushed their record up to 4-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.8 points per game. As for Danbury, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.

Danbury took a serious blow against New Riegel in their previous meeting back in February, falling 69-34. Can Danbury avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
