Baseball Recap: Seffner Christian Drops Highest Score of Season Against Spoto

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Seffner Christian). They put the hurt on the Spoto Spartans with a sharp 13-3 win on Saturday. With that victory, the Crusaders brought their scoring average up to 6.3 runs per game.

Seffner Christian got a great performance from Alejandro Hamana as he pitched 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. Those hits marked the first that Hamana allowed this season.

On the hitting side, Brayden Nanns was a standout: he got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Jenuel Ortiz, who scored four runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Seffner Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .455. The last time their batting average was this high was back in March of 2024.

Seffner Christian's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-6. As for Spoto, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-7 record this season.
