Morgan County won the last time they faced Putnam County and things went their way on Friday too. The Bulldogs blew past the War Eagles, posting a 46-14 victory. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 92nd, while the War Eagles are ranked 223rd) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Christian Monfort was a one-man wrecking crew as he rushed for 171 yards and four scores while picking up 10.7 yards per carry, and also picked up 33 receiving yards. Those four rushing touchdowns gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Davis Strickland, who threw for 197 yards while completing 71.4% of his passes.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Morgan County was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 298 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Putnam County only rushed for 159 rushing yards.

Despite the loss, Putnam County still got an impressive performance from Omarion Butts, who rushed for 115 yards and one touchdown.

Morgan County's win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0. The team's perfect season has a lot to do with their offensive performance: the team's won by an average of 24.6 points thus far. As for Putnam County, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.
