Basketball Recap: Center Grove's Victory on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Center Grove had won four straight games and Gracyn Gilliard did her part to make it five on Saturday. The Trojans blew past the Franklin Community Grizzly Cubs, posting a 51-19 victory for which the team can thank Gilliard, who shot 53% from the field en route to 20 points along with five boards and three steals. Her evening made it eight games in a row in which she has scored at least 18 points.

Haley Wagoner was another key player, putting up nine points. Thanks to that strong game, she now owns an excellent 50% shooting accuracy.

When it comes to explaining why Franklin Community lost, don't look at Addi Bright. Despite the final result, she posted six points. Aleah Singleton also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.

Center Grove's record now sits at 5-0. As for Franklin Community, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 4-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Center Grove will welcome Roncalli at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. That game will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Gilliard and Elliot Leffler. As for Franklin Community, they will host Indian Creek at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
