Volleyball Recap: Hayley Royal and Caroline Butler Secure Win for Carrboro + How To Watch

There's no place like home for Carrboro, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Southern Alamance Patriots with a sharp 3-0 victory on Friday. The Jaguars haven't had any issues with the Patriots recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

While Carrboro won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-21, 25-22.

Leading Carrboro to victory were Caroline Butler and Hayley Royal. Butler had five digs and three aces, while Royal had seven digs and two aces. What's more, Royal posted two assists, the most she's had since back in October of 2024.

They weren't the only good server: Carrboro was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 13 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least seven aces in 28 consecutive matches dating back to last season.

The victory got Carrboro back to even at 1-1.

Coming up, Carrboro will face off against Jordan at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Southern Alamance, they will square off against West Forsyth at 10:45 a.m. on Saturday.
