Capital Athletic League recap November 5, 2013

Adding to the longest winning streak in Capital Athletic League this week, Antelope beat Rio Americano 31-7. The victory was the sixth in a row for the team.

Mira Loma lost to El Camino 63-7 last week, the largest margin of any game.

Drew Romo threw for 111 yards and 4 touchdowns. He went 6-10 with 0 interceptions.

Greg Scott was a passing and rushing force as the Eagles defeated the Matadors. Scott's key target this week was Nick Mirkovich, who caught 3 passes for 97 yards.

Marcus Robinson made the biggest impact on defense this week as Whitney topped Cordova. The 5-foot-10 senior pulled down 1 interception and grabbed 1 sack.

Mirkovich was the best receiver in the league this week as El Camino bested Mira Loma. Mirkovich racked up 3 receptions for 97 yards. Scott helped El Camino's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 26 yards.

The Wildcats' Romo and Kris Corpus led the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-4 quarterback Romo has thrown for 1,393 yards this season, while Corpus has 20 catches for 346 yards. Titus Vinson from Antelope leads the league in rushing with 841 yards.

The top two teams in Capital Athletic League will face off this week when first place Antelope takes on second place Whitney. Matt Ray's team topped the Raiders last week, while Whitney beat the Lancers.

One of the league's premier quarterbacks will go head-to-head with its top pass rusher when Mike Gimenez's team and the Titans face off next week.

Adam Reinking's team led the league in scoring this week by notching 63 points on Kirk Anderson's team. Kamani Elam threw for 102 yards and 2 touchdowns and ran for 71 yards in the win.
