While Shades Valley didn't have the best season last year (they finished 6-8), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They put the hurt on the Oxford Yellow Jackets with a sharp 9-1 victory on Thursday. Venus Reyes was a massive factor in the win as she booted in three goals all by herself.

The win was the fourth in a row for Shades Valley, bringing their record for this year to 7-2. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 26 goals over those four games. As for Oxford, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That lines up perfectly with their 0-6 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Shades Valley will venture away from home to challenge St. Clair County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. St. Clair County has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 21 goals over their last three matchups. As for Oxford, they will head out to take on Pell City on Thursday.
