Basketball Recap: Jemison Comes Up Short

On Saturday, the Jemison Panthers had to suffer through a 68-32 loss at the hands of the Selma Saints. The matchup marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Selma was led to victory by DeShawn Flannigan and LaDarian Brown. Flannigan went 7 for 16 en route to 16 points and eight boards, while Brown dropped a double-double on ten points and 14 rebounds. The dominant performance gave Brown a new career-high in boards. Samarion Woods was another key player, putting up seven points and five steals.

Jemison's defeat dropped their record down to 15-7. As for Selma, their win was their 19th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 18-1.

While Jemison had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
