Baseball Game Preview: Stevens Falcons vs. Brennan Bears

For the second straight game, Stevens will face off against Brennan. The Falcons will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Bears at 7:15 p.m. Stevens will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

Stevens had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the six-run drubbing they dealt Brennan on Tuesday. The Falcons blew past the Bears 7-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Falcons have posted against the Bears since April 12, 2022.

Joshua Hernandez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on six hits. He has become a key player for Stevens: the team is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 9-10-1 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Matt Diaz and Jordan Vargas did most of the damage at the plate: Diaz went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI, while Vargas went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. That's the most hits Vargas has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Adan Castillo, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Stevens' victory bumped their record up to 13-10-1. As for Brennan, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-9.
