Baseball Recap: Keys Gate Victorious

While Keys Gate's win against Archbishop Carroll wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Knights narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Bulldogs 7-5.

Jaime Osorio tossed a big game, striking out nine batters over 5.2 innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Anthony Hernandez was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in February of 2025. Juan Pablo Casteneda also deserves some recognition as he launched his first home run of the season.

Keys Gate lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Keys Gate's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-6. As for Archbishop Carroll, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Keys Gate will welcome Varela at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Archbishop Carroll, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Mater Bay Academy at 4:00 p.m. The Bulldogs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Rays have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season.
