Basketball Recap: Our Lady of Lourdes Triumphs

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Our Lady of Lourdes walked away with it. They snuck past the Washingtonville Wizards with a 63-57 win on Saturday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Warriors.

Washingtonville's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Matthew Rodriguez, who shot 55% from the field en route to 12 points and five boards. That's the most rebounds Rodriguez has posted since back in January. Another player making a difference was Jack Dellova, who had 14 points and five boards.

Our Lady of Lourdes' victory bumped their record up to 16-5. As for Washingtonville, with the defeat, they broke their 13-game winning streak and moved their record to 18-4.

Looking ahead, Our Lady of Lourdes will take on Binghamton at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Binghamton knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 15 matchups -- so hopefully Our Lady of Lourdes likes a good challenge. Washingtonville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
