Baseball Game Preview: Bishop Watterson Eagles vs. Columbus Academy Vikings

The Bishop Watterson Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Columbus Academy Vikings at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Bishop Watterson is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last six games.

Bishop Watterson had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Teays Valley on Wednesday. The Eagles were the clear victors by a 13-3 margin over the Vikings. Considering the Eagles have won 11 games by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Ben Uhlenhake was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in May of 2025. Caden Mangini was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Columbus Academy came up short against Hayes on Monday, falling 17-3. The Vikings have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Columbus Academy's loss dropped their record down to 10-12. As for Bishop Watterson, their victory bumped their record up to 19-3.

Bishop Watterson got the 'W' when the teams last played back in April of 2025 against Columbus Academy by a conclusive 12-4 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
