Basketball Recap: Mountain View Beats Greeley Central for Their Third Straight Victory

Mountain View waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They enjoyed a cozy 71-55 victory over the Greeley Central Wildcats. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 75-49 back in January.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mountain View to victory, but perhaps none more so than Dylan Garland, who went 10-for-16 to rack up 25 points. Garland is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 45% in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Cole Tonniges, who dropped a double-double with 18 points and ten boards.

Mountain View was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Greeley Central only four assists.

Despite the loss, Greeley Central still got an impressive performance from Daniel Martinez, who went 9-for-17 on his way to 23 points along with eight rebounds and seven steals. That was a full 41.8% of Greeley Central's points, marking the seventh time in a row Martinez has posted more than a third of the team's points. Dominic Salazar was another key player, putting up seven points and five boards.

Mountain View's win bumped their record up to 14-9. As for Greeley Central, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-16.

Mountain View does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Greeley Central, they will challenge Severance at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Severance's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five games.
