Basketball Recap: Garner Makes It 19 in a Row at Home

There's no place like home for Garner, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. In a tight game that could have gone either way, they made off with a 70-69 victory over the Southeast Raleigh Bulldogs. Given the Trojans' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 11th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 118th), the result on Tuesday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Garner's win was their 19th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 19-3. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.5 points over those games. As for Southeast Raleigh, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-10.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Garner and Corinth Holders will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday without much rest having both just played. As for Southeast Raleigh, they will take on Willow Spring at 7:45 p.m. on Friday.
