On Friday, the Booker Tornadoes were fully in charge, breezing past the Boca Ciega Pirates 48-12. The Tornadoes might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by 27 points or more this season.
Booker had a senior duo take command as Ryan Downes - 2025 threw for 354 yards and three touchdowns while completing 81.8% of his passes and Deanwar Johnson rushed for 110 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 carries. Downes - 2025 has become a key player for Booker: the team is 4-1 when he posts at least 300 passing yards, but 1-2 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyree Mannings Jr, who picked up 111 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
One reason for the win was Booker's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for six sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Jordan Radkey and Dajien Walton, who racked up four sacks between them.
