Softball Recap: Homewood Patriots vs. Lincoln Golden Bears

Homewood picked up another tournament win on Saturday. They walked away with a 6-3 win over the Lincoln Golden Bears. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Patriots.

Anne Hope Howell looked comfortable as she tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Allie Stuman was excellent, going 1-for-2 with three RBI and one double. Mia Gonzalez was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Homewood always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lincoln only posted an OBP of .318.

Homewood's record is now 4-1. As for Lincoln, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-2.

Looking ahead, Homewood will square off against John Carroll Catholic at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. Homewood is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8 runs per game this season. As for Lincoln, they will face off against Mountain Brook at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
