Baseball Game Preview: Hodgdon Hawks vs. Central Aroostook Panthers

The Hodgdon Hawks will head out on the road to face off against the Central Aroostook Panthers at 2:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Thursday, Hodgdon came up short against Fort Fairfield and fell 6-1. The loss continues a trend for the Hawks in their meetings with the Tigers: they've now lost three in a row.

Madawaska hit Central Aroostook with a four-run first inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Panthers came up short against the Owls, falling 13-3.

Central Aroostook saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ben Woodworth, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run.

Hodgdon's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Central Aroostook, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 1-3.

Hodgdon skirted past Central Aroostook 12-11 in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Hawks since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
